Summer Library Hours 

We are open during limited hours until school starts. We would love it if you stopped by to chat or to clear a fine.  Remember, your schedule will be held here at Holmes and at the high school if you have a fine (we really don't want to do this but we will).

 

Thursday, August 16-Tuesday, August 28

9:00 am-3 pm

 

*closed Monday, August 27 until 11 am for all-district breakfast.

 

Wednesday, August 29-September 13

Open on a limited basis due to textbook distribution and other beginning of the year constraints.

Exciting News!

*All School Read for 2018:  Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein

Book Bingo:  Read, fill out and turn in by September 14th for a prize or free ice cream!  Staff and students can participate. Bingo sheets are available in paper copy in the library, in our library locker (left hand side of this page), and came in a Schoolloop June 1.

June 6--Holmes celebration/A Dog’s Purpose movie in the library

June 7--Last day of school, minimum day (12:00 dismissal)

June 8--no school but the library will be open except 11:30-1:15 pm

Ways to read over the summer:

Overdrive:  DJUSD has its own digital e-book and audiobook collection.  You can login using your district Google login (your initials and school ID, full birthday as the password).  Try the app (available for all devices). You can toggle back and forth between our library and public libraries!

 

Current 7th and 8th graders:

This year we are trying something new:  you can check out up to 3 books over the summer!  Your record must be clear (no fines or overdues).

Fun things to do....

Homework Club

The first day of Homework Club for the 2018-19 school year is Monday, September 24!

 

Homework Club is after school in the library, Monday - Thursday 3:30 - 5 pm.  The tutors are available daily to help with math, science, organizational skills and more.  We also have textbooks, computers and printers available for student use.  If you have any questions please call or email Mrs. Sisneros.
